FORM 3 YEARLING WORKSHEET

GENERAL: Complete the boxes as follows for each type of information.
Calves from a calving season should be weighed within 7 days of one another to obtain the largest possible contemporary groups for calculating adjusted yearling weight ratios.
  
CALF’S INFORMATION: Calf PHN -Calf’s Private Herd Number. 
REGISTRATION NUMBER -Calf’s registration number on file at the ABBA office.
  
YEARLING DATA: CHANGE SEX? -change sex to steer if (and only if) calf was castrated a significant amount of time prior to weaning.
WEIGH DATE -Date calf weighed at yearling. Calves from a calving season should be weighed within a 7 day period (MM/DD/YY).
WEIGHT -Yearling Weight. (Actual calf’s weight taken between 320 and 410 days of age. Animals weighed outside this age span will be marked irregular for yearling ratio.)
YEARLING MANAGEMENT CODE -Yearling Management Type. (1=Pasture w/ Supp. Feed,2=Pasture no supp. Feed, 3=Dry Lot, Full Feed/No Pasture, 4=On Show Ration)
GROUP CODE -Calf’s Yearling Group. (1=Group 1, 2=Group 2, 3=Group 3, etc. Maximum 2 characters) Assign a different group number for each group of calves treated differently.
SCROTAL CIRCUMFERENCE -Measurement taken at largest diameter of scrotum. (centimeters)
HIP HEIGHT -Calf’s hip height measurement (inches).
SHEATH/NAVEL SCORE -Sheath scores for bulls and Navel scores for females (1=Unacceptable, 5=Excessively Clean)
DISPOSAL CODE - For inactive animals, use this field to record reason animal is no longer in your herd.
PRIVATE CODE 1 -Optional private code available for entering any single digit code that the breeder chooses.
PRIVATE CODE 2 -Optional private code available for entering any single digit code that the breeder chooses.
